A small group of men must defy all the odds to save themselves and many others in 'Saints and Soldiers', set during the second World War. In 1944, a group of almost a hundred American soldiers are trekking through the forests of Belgium when they are ambushed by German forces. The ensuing fight became known as 'the Malmady Massacre'. From the larger group, a splinter group of the soldiers take cover - tough Sgt. Gunderson, Kendrick, a medical officer from Brooklyn called Gould, and Cpl Greer, known as 'Deacon'. Deacon is a devout Mormon who sometimes has compassion for the enemy that often puts him at odds with the other soldiers. Deacon is also a great shooter who has been having doubts after nearly killing an innocent Belgian family. Surrounded by the enemy and with no apparent means of escape, Gunderson and his group meet Oberon Winley, a British officer trapped by the earlier fight. Winley has secret knowledge that could change the entire war if it gets to Allied commanders in time - but will they be able to get it out in time?
