Wesley Snipes and Bruce Payne star in this thriller about a terrorist being transported on a plane by the FBI who is freed by associates and takes the aircraft hostage, but with an airline security specialist seated in row 57, it is not their lucky day.Having been offered a new job as vice-president of anti-terrorism for a major airline, former police officer John Cutter (Wesley Snipes) boards a plane to travel to his new position in Los Angeles. Coincidentally, on board the same plane is notorious terrorist Charles Rane (Bruce Payne), who is in FBI custody enroute to a court appearance. Rane and several accomplices take the plane hostage while it is in the air, and Cutter springs into action, narrowly evading death as he enables the plane to dump fuel and land safely. Although Cutter manages to make it off the plane, Rane somehow gets Cutter arrested by the sheriff negotiating the hostages' release, but the small matter of being in custody himself will not stop the determined Cutter from going after his quarry.
