This comedy based on the television series of the same name, stars Jeff Daniels and Christopher Lloyd. After he loses his job, a news producer could expose the story of a lifetime when he befriends a Martian stranded on Earth, but will a scoop be more important than friendship? Things couldn't get much worse for News Producer Tim O'Hara (Jeff Daniels). He accidentally humiliates Brace Channing (Elizabeth Hurley), the woman he loves, during a live transmission and then is fired by her father. So when he stumbles upon a "Martian" (Christopher Lloyd) whose space ship has accidentally crash-landed on Earth, he thinks this could be his ticket to fame and fortune. But the Martian has other ideas, and befriends Tim, posing as his Uncle Martin. While Tim pretends to help him fix his spaceship, he secretly tapes "Uncle Martin's" strange behaviour. When Brace gets hold of the tapes, Tim has to decide if his career is really more important than friendship.
