The Goonies are a group of teens residing in the boondocks of a small Oregon community. When brothers Mikey (Sean Astin) and Brand (Josh Brolin) are forced to leave their home and friends because land developers are foreclosing on their house, they decide that their only chance is to find treasure to stop the developers. The brothers are joined by compulsive eater Chunk (Jeff Cohen), mumbling Mouth (Corey Feldman), and Data (Ke Huy-Quan) for one final adventure together. Searching through their attic, the boys uncover a pirate map showing the whereabouts of the notorious One-Eyed Willy's sunken treasure, in an enormous subterranean cavern. Their search leads them to an abandoned cliff-side restaurant that is being used as a hideout for the murderous Fratelli gang. Now, in addition to avoiding all the booby traps set by the pirates so many centuries ago, the Goonies will have to fight gangsters for the treasure.
